Museum Of Sex Delays OpeningFirst Exhibit Features Sex In NYCPosted: 6:48 p.m. EDT September 29, 2002 Construction headaches have caused the delay of the Museum of Sex opening its doors in New York. According to Reuters News Service, the museum was scheduled to open Saturday, but was "overwhelmed by the media last week and we couldn't get the work done," said Jim O'Shea, the manager of the museum's visitor services. The announcement of the postponed opening came too late for some visitors, who were offered $4 off their $17 ticket if they came back to the re-scheduled opening, set for Oct. 5, Reuters reported. The inaugural show is titled "NYC Sex: How New York City Transformed Sex in America." According to the museum's Web site, the exhibit "charts NYC's histories of prostitution, "white slavery," birth control, fetish, sexual freedom, obscenity laws and more." If it opens as expected, the first exhibit will run from Oct. 5 through July 3, 2003.
