You may soon be able to get all the room and flexibility of a minivan, without what some consider that unfashionable name.
General Motors plans to start using the term crossover sport van in the next few years.
The company did research and found that the benefits of the vehicles were undeniable, but that the minivan does not have the most "with it" characteristics, WDIV-TV in Detroit learned.
"In a couple of years, Saturn, Pontiac, Chevrolet, and Buick will each get their own version of what will be called a crossover sport van," said Tom Kowaleski, a spokesperson for General Motors.
AutoNews.com said that the Chevy Venture and Pontiac Montana will get the new name in 2005.
The site also said that, along with the new classification, the vehicles will get an updated look that includes taller dimensions and looks more in line with sport utility vehicles.
