Two day-care workers in Ocala, Fla., were arrested after they allegedly left a 3-year-old girl inside a van that reached 122 degrees, according to Local 6 News.

Investigators said A Country Day Care employees Tina Fasciglione, 30, and Linda Jones, 64, took 18 toddlers on a field trip Wednesday before the incident and stopped at a restaurant at the Shady Oaks Plaza.

"They left one of those toddlers behind in the van," Local 6's Jessica Sanchez said. "Temperatures reached 122 degrees, but fortunately after about 30 minutes, the little girl was able to open the door and let herself out."

A local businessman, Mike Sanders, found the wandering child a short time later.

"She looked like she was overheated," Sanders said. "She looked like she had was left in a car or something, which I doubt. She was hysterical for a little 3-year-old."

Fasciglione and Jones face several charges, including second-degree felony neglect.

The young girl was recovering Wednesday night.
