A congressman in Iowa has apologized for disparaging comments he made about a veteran White House correspondent, according to a Local 6 News report.Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa was talking about the death of terrorist leader Musab al-Zarqawi when he mentioned reporter Helen Thomas."There probably are not 72 virgins in the hell he's at," King said about al-Zarqawi. "And if there are, they probably all look like Helen Thomas."
A representative for King said he has apologized to Thomas.Thomas did not immediately return calls seeking comment, according to an Associated Press report.Thomas has covered the White House for nearly 50 years and is a columnist for Hearst Newspapers.Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
