The woman told police that she caught him cheating on her so she took action while he was asleep in their home located in the Tioga-Nicetown section, the report said.

The man was taken to the hospital with severe bleeding.

A TV news station in Philadelphia reported that the man's genitalia were reattached at a hospital.

He was reportedly in stable condition.

The woman could face aggravated assault or attempted murder charges in connection with the incident, Local 6 News reported.
