Screams for help from a home in Alburquerque, N.M., led to the discovery of a suspected burglar trapped inside a chimney Thursday, according to a Local 6 News report.

Police said an off-duty firefighter was walking his dog when he heard cries for help and noticed a foot sticking out of a chimney of a vacant home.When officers investigated, they found Rudy Lopez, 55, trapped inside the chimney.Lopez was cut from the chimney and arrested for allegedly attempting to break into the structure."This is pretty unusual, normally we get one or two calls like this a year," Albuquerque fire Capt. Eddy Mireles said. "Individuals think it's a free passageway to the interior of the house and they forget there's a damper inside the chimney and nine times out of 10, they get stuck."Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
