Hidden Camera Busts TV Sportscaster In Woman's Home

Police Charge Mills With Burglary

UPDATED: 9:17 am EST January 27, 2006

A Baltimore television sportscaster is free on bond after he was charged with stealing painkillers from his neighbor's home.

Keith Mills was arrested Wednesday afternoon at his home in Linthicum, Md., after he was captured in a police sting. Court documents said the neighbor installed a surveillance camera, which taped Mills allegedly stealing the pills.

The report goes on to say pills were found in Mills' pocket after officers saw him near the neighbor's house around the time some pills disappeared. Mills is charged with two counts of first-degree burglary and two counts of theft.

Keith Mills has been with WMAR-TV since 1987.

In 2004, he sought treatment for a problem with painkillers.

WBAL-TV in Baltimore contacted WMAR-TV's general manager Drew Berry for comment and he released this statement: "I really can't comment because police have not released all of the specifics yet. Additionally, this may become a personnel matter and that would further restrict the comment we'll be able to make."
