Store Employee Tied Up In Store

A man posing as a delivery worker and at least one other man robbed a jewelry store of its high-end watches, rings and other items Thursday night, according to Orlando police.

Police responded to the robbery report at Bay Hill Jewelers on West Sand Lake Road Thursday.

Investigators said a man wearing a delivery uniform with a package on his shoulder tapped on the window of the store and asked to be buzzed inside the business.

The man then pulled out a Taser gun and asked employees for keys to open glass cases in the store, Local 6 News reported.

He then tied up a female employee and let his suspected accomplice inside the store, police said.

"He tied her wrists up and put her on the ground and proceeded to let another guy in and they cleaned the jewelry cases," store owner Stacey Karatzas said.

Karatzas said one-of-a-kind jewelry was taken from the cases, including rings worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. The less expensive jewelry was not touched during the robbery, Local 6 News reported.

"It appears these guys knew exactly what they were going for because a lot of the cases you can see when you look through the doorway there is quite a bit of jewelry left in there," Orange County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Crystal Candy said.

"I feel like it was a planned thing and someone was intentionally planning to rob us," Karatzas said.

The men covered their faces with bandannas and glasses and wore gloves.

They were seen leaving the area in a black Lincoln Navigator with tinted windows.

Orange County sheriff's deputies are viewing surveillance videotape in an attempt to identify the men.

No one was injured during the robbery.
