A 21-year-old man waving a Bible jumped into a lions' den at an Australian zoo Tuesday and asked stunned onlookers if they wanted him to pet the animals during their feeding time, according to a Local 6 News report.
Officials said the man made it into the lions' enclosure at the Melbourne Zoo and showed a yellow Bible to the crowd. He then asked them if he should pet four lions.
Australian television showed amateur video footage of the man trying to pat a lion Tuesday.A short time later, zoo workers were able to coax the man out of the den without injury.The man was immediately transported to a psychiatric hospital.Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
