PALM BAY, Fla. -- A man in Brevard County, Fla., planned to hang from a homemade wooden cross 12 hours a day until Sunday to raise money for poverty-stricken Haiti, according to Local 6 News.
Tom Bo told Local 6 News that he is willing to sacrifice himself so others will sacrifice and offer money to a Christian ministry. He plans to stay on the cross without food until 8 p.m. Friday and then through the weekend."This is totally out of my comfort zone," Bo said. "(It's) very embarrassing and humiliating -- not to count the pain I'm feeling. I think my arms and fingers have gone numb. It's extremely painful. (But) I'm going to do whatever I need to do."Several passerby in Palm Bay donated money to the man's cause."We can't wait for the government to do anything," Bo said while hanging from a cross. "This missionary needs your help."Bo said his "cross campaign" is not affiliated with the church he attends. He said the funds will go to Fishers of Men Ministries International, a mission founded in Haiti in 1988 that provides education and food distribution throughout the country.Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
