Houston police searched Monday for four men who abducted and sexually assaulted a teenager in two separate attacks in one day, Houston TV station KPRC reported.

Police said on March 18, the 16-year-old girl was kidnapped on her way to a southeast Houston bus stop, and taken to an abandoned house and sexually assaulted by three men.

She managed to escape and tried to call for help from a pay phone, police said.

A man in a Chevrolet Malibu pulled up and asked her if she needed help. When she told him that she had been sexually assaulted, he offered to take her to the hospital.

"She told him that she had been sexually assaulted, and that she needed some help, and she wanted to get to the hospital. The man seemed very helpful, very concerned. (He) told her to trust him -- that he would get her some medical attention, get her some help," said Emma Rodriguez, with the Houston Police Department.

When she noticed that they were not headed to a hospital, the driver threatened her and drove her to a remote location on Almeda Genoa Road, where he also sexually assaulted her, investigators said.

She was then driven to a streetcorner and forced out of the car, according to police.

"He knew that she had already been attacked. He saw how vulnerable, how upset she was and he used that to his advantage," Rodriguez said.

Police believe they have a good lead in the three men in the first assault, but need the public's help finding the fourth rapist.

The driver is described as 45 to 50 years old, 5 feet 10 to 6 feet 2 inches tall, 150 to 170 pounds with bad teeth and a greying moustache. He was wearing a black baseball cap and jeans.

Neighbors were shocked to hear about the assaults.

"I can't believe that somebody would take her off -- a schoolgirl -- and just, you know. But we have people in this world who would do most anything to anybody. They don't care," said Lena Newsome, who lives near the first attack location.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to arrests and convictions in this case.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS.
