A 17-year-old boy led deputies and Florida Highway Patrol troopers on a frantic search for more than two hours late Thursday after the boy allegedly stole a fire department car.

Police said the teen reportedly threatened suicide during a profanity-laden tirade against public safety officials at about 10:38 p.m. Thursday. Officials were trying to talk him into stopping the unmarked Crown Victoria, Local 6 News partner Florida Today reported.

The vehicle belonged to the Cape Canaveral Fire Department.

Brevard County sheriff's deputies blew out all four tires on the Crown Victoria at about 1 a.m. and took the youth into custody.
