Former Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding may get a chance after all to fight in her first professional boxing match in Memphis, Tenn.
Harding was scheduled to box Samantha Browning from Mississippi as part of the under card for the Mike Tyson, Clifford Etienne match until the event was canceled.
Tyson was apparently too sick to fight. However, Tyson reportedly changed his mind Tuesday and now reportedly plans to go forward with the fight this weekend, according to an Associated Press report. After a workout at the Grand Casino in Tunica, Miss., Harding said her first fight would be a stepping-stone to a professional boxing career."My whole life I've been fighting to want to belong, wanted people to believe in me and what I can do," Harding said. "The fans that buy tickets get to come and see me, and everyone from Memphis and all around have been very supportive and it's just great."
