The controversial Hunt Club of Brevard is based inside a house in the rustic Oak Groves subdivision, nestled among acre-lot estates, horse stables and backyard fish ponds along the Turtle Mound Road corridor. In a certified letter delivered to club operators Richard Spalding and Kirsi Page, Melbourne Code Enforcement Administrator Dan Porsi said their sex enterprise was an illegal, unlicensed business, Local 6 News partner Florida Today reported.Porsi ruled that the club is a commercial venture operating inside a private home, violating zoning regulations.Unless club activities shut down by Thursday, the Melbourne code enforcement board will consider the case during its July 30 meeting, Porsi wrote. The board could start charging daily fines.Spalding and Page rent the 2,534-square-foot home on Beth Lane. A similar code enforcement letter was mailed this week to the homeowner, Pennsylvania resident Penny Hanson.Contacted via e-mail, Hanson declined comment.Spalding and Page could not be reached for comment. The club Web site -- which now features toned-down content -- used to advertise a five-person hot tub dubbed "The Pink Cauldron" and other salacious trappings.Melbourne Planning and Economic Development Director Cindy Dittmer sent Spalding and Page a cease-and-desist letter April 23.But, according to swinglifestyle.com, The Hunt Club of Brevard continues to operate: A May 30 masquerade party was scheduled to feature "paper faces on parade."Melbourne police and zoning and code enforcement officials have monitored The Hunt Club in recent weeks, garnering attention from CNN and other national media outlets.
