WESTON, Fla. -- Gatorade, the thirst-quenching sports drink, became a headache for motorists traveling on southbound U.S. 27 near the town of Weston on the edge of the Everglades. A big rig overturned Thursday morning on the road in Broward County. Bottles of Gatorade were spilled in the southbound lanes near Mile Marker 42, several miles north of Interstate 75. The southbound lanes were closed until a front end loader cleaned up the spilled bottles. No one was injured.
Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Mark Wysocky said the tractor-trailer ran off the road, then came back across the roadway towards the median where it overturned.
