Elizabeth Book, a mother and Ormond Beach resident, has been arrested several times protesting laws that stop women from publicly exposing themselves.

Book sued Daytona Beach for $100,000 and other damages stemming from what her attorney called negligence, false arrest and malicious prosecution, the Daytona Beach News Journal reported.

Courts ruled in the woman's favor, so the city changed its ordinance to include language that says a person does not have a constitutional right to public nudity if they are protesting a nudity ordinance, the report said.

The city commission awarded Book the settlement Wednesday night.
