DeLAND, Fla. -- A woman skydiving in Volusia County on Thursday suffered life-threatening injuries when she crashed to the ground, authorities said.Rescue workers responded to the incident near DeLand Municipal Airport at about 2:30 p.m.The woman was conscious but suffered critical, life-threatening injuries, authorities said. She was airlifted to Halifax Health Medical Center.
It is not known if the woman suffered from a medical condition while skydiving or if her parachute would not deploy.Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
