Police said the car owner was trying to sell the vehicle to a man near a police station in Gilbert.

Investigators said the potential buyer jumped behind the steering wheel and sped off in front of a police officer, and with a news crew's cameras rolling.

Officers chased and captured the man a short time later.

The 42-year-old man faces several charges in connection with the theft.
