SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. -- A sheriff's deputy in Seminole County is being credited with saving the life of a 16-month-old girl who fell into a fountain outside a courthouse.Deputy William Powell jumped into the water outside of the Seminole County Courthouse after his partner Morrell Debose screamed that a baby was in the water.Myra Joseph's daughter, Nyla, had squeezed between some narrow guardrails outside of the building and fell into the fountain.Powell said he knew he needed to take actions since Joseph appeared to be paralyzed with fear."She was so shocked she couldn't move," Powell said. "She was frozen and standing there, like what do I do? I took off at a dead sprint out of the courthouse and (jumped) into the water."Powell pulled Nyla from the water, saving her life."I froze because I could see terror in her face," Joseph said.
