Cream May Help Eliminate Cellulite

A special medical cream made from an asthma drug is showing results in eliminating cellulite for some users, according to a Local 6 News report.

Local 6 News featured Sherry Lantz, 52, who said she has been in a constant struggle with her thighs and cellulite.

"I've exercised for 10 years straight and couldn't get rid of it," Lantz said.

When exercise didn't work, Lantz said she tried different fat creams with promises to melt cellulite away.

She said she found a cream that works called Cellulean with the key ingredient of aminophylline.

"It's smoother on my thighs," Lantz said. "I have lost about two inches on each thigh."

Scientists at UCLA's school of medicine discovered the cream several years ago. However, they could not find a lotion that would allow the drug to penetrate the skin.

Many studies on creams with aminophylline showed that they don't deliver the drug to cellulite deposits and patients would be better off with injections.

However, Lantz said the cream is showing results.

"Other people have complimented me on my legs and asked me what I'm doing," Lantz said. "They notice the change."
