Jessica Simpson To Play Daisy In New 'Dukes' Movie

Singer and reality show television star Jessica Simpson is putting up her dukes and taking a swing at the big screen.

According to the Hollywood Reporter online, Simpson has been cast as Daisy Duke in Warner Bros. big screen version of "The Dukes of Hazzard."The film will be considered Simpson's film debut, although she appeared as herself in "Master in Disguise," the Reporter said.
Simpson will join Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville, who were previously cast as Bo and Luke Duke, the site reported.The original "Dukes of Hazzard" aired on television from 1979-1985, starring John Schneider and Tom Wopat as Bo and Luke Duke, respectively. Catherine Bach starred as Daisy Duke.Simpson and her husband, singer Nick Lachey, are the stars of the MTV reality show "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica."
