Deadly crash happened on SR-A1A near Moonlight Drive

BEVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A 36-year-old Vero Beach Woman was killed on Sunday after her motorcycle struck the back of a pickup truck in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the woman’s Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling north on State Road A1A south of Moonlight Drive around 11:53 a.m.

According to a crash report, at the same time, a Chevrolet Silverado – being driven by a 75-year-old Malabar man – was stopped in the northbound lane of State Road A1A ahead of the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist failed to stop for the pickup tuck stopped ahead and crashed into the rear of the truck, according to the FHP.

Troopers said the woman was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The pickup truck driver remained at the scene and was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
