1 critically injured, 6 students hurt after Marion County school bus crash

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – One person was critically injured and six students were hurt after a school bus crash on Friday afternoon, according to Marion County Fire Rescue.

In a release, fire officials said that the crash happened around 2:20 p.m. in the 12400 block of NE Highway 315.

Upon arrival, first responders found the bus and a minivan had collided on the road, the release shows.

Fire crews rescued the minivan driver, who was trapped, according to firefighters.

Fire officials said the minivan driver was taken to the hospital as a Trauma Alert, and six students on the bus were hospitalized, as well.
